What freedom are we to find
when our restless minds
are enslaved under the chains
of human trafficking?
What freedom do we preach
when our females breathe
through enraged wounds?
They are used and abused,
left in caves alienated and bruised.
What is this language we speak of
when we talk about the law,
since the human right clause
is ignored and flawed?
Whom is it protecting
because here we are protesting?
Isn't this law ought to save
the bodies of young females?
Isn't this law ought to be brave
and remove females from sex frames?
Instead, it chooses for women and children to die
leaving their loved ones with no goodbyes.
Human trafficking, I say,
has made enough money for the day.”

15th of October of 2022. 21st century. Why am I doing this?
When you questioned yourself why you do what you do, it is hard to find an answer. But in this case I have one. Slavery still exists. Modern slavery is happening every single day and every single moment we breathe, someone is being trafficked. It is hard to notice when you live in a bubble, which is safe and secure. It is scary that we are exposed to modern slavery and it is scary that my kids will be raised in a world where slavery is still happening. And the most scary part, is that the victims are not being heard. What I am going to do is something happens to me if anyone cares? That is the reason why I am doing this. That is the reason why I want to scream and shout for freedom. Walk for freedom is a silent walk to commemorate the victims of human trafficking and it is a way of giving them a voice. It opened our minds to other realities of the world.
During this week, we were in charge of preparing this international event in Forde. On Wednesday, we meet to distribute the tasks and educate ourselves in the topic, which we were already aware. On Thursday, we prepared the posters and all the material for the demonstration and on Friday we continued working on it. Also, we did a flash mob in the cantina, where we exposed a scenario of human trafficking. Finally, Saturday came. First of all, we arrived with our buses, we were 50 people in total. Then, we distributed flyers in Forde, so local people could know what was going on. After, we gave some speeches and we started the walk, in silence, all around Forde.
I have never done something like that before and it felt really good to be exposed in that way. Some people from the streets were looking at us in a very strange way and other were supportive, but that is how life is. It was an act of perseverance. We didn't quit even though things weren't easy. At the same time, we had to do all of that while we were under school pressure, so it also a way of improving our organizing skills and our abilities to work as a team. It wouldn't be possible if we didn't cooperate and worked together and accept other people's perspectives and opinions.
Now I feel more inspired to take action and motivated to continue with human trafficking.
The days that I didn't do the PBL, I had the opportunity of socializing and meet more people, relax and JUMP TO THE FJORD!!!
